The NBA finals gave us a hint at what is happening in Afro-Futurism with the Black Panther trailer. In a comic book nerd way I loved it, but as a science fiction nerd I would like something less fantastic. One theme I’m often drawn to is when something very grounded is presented in an impressive way. There’s a history for appreciating the common in Western Art from Hals and Carravaggio to Duchamp and Warhol. In this story the writer shows with personable detail how AI as a public service can affect people personally and society as a whole.
